![]() ![]() I think a “Microsoft Games Premium” subscription that was $19.90 a year and covered all the Microsoft casual games and both their PC and mobile versions would actually be more compelling and also actually make Microsoft more money.īefore this deal I would have said that MSN Games was going to get shut down and they’d release Jewel (and maybe Bubble) as a stand-alone PC and mobile app. But the weird thing is that each of their casual games has its own subscription and the premium subscriptions are also not cross-platform, so if you want to play ad-free on both your iPhone and your PC you need two separate subscriptions. It’s $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year, and $10 a year is almost like a why-bother amount of money for a subscription service, like at that point the mental load of people not wanting another subscription is going to be your limiting factor, not the price. I like Solitaire Collection but the Premium version is such a weird offering. ![]() The smart money is probably on Candy Crush just coming with Windows 12.īut in a larger sense, I think Microsoft is sort of overdue for some changes to their casual games strategy. Click to shrink. It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft handles all that. ![]()
